A skateboard is a simple object. It’s comprised of a deck to stand on, wheels, and trucks (axles). Despite its fundamental simplicity, skateboarding is expansive. It’s in counter-culture/culture and in high/low society. It gives space to those who want it.
Skateboarding is often playfully irreverant and casual. It doesn’t have to be taken seriously, especially because all it requires is those prior three components.
is an unwarranted deconstruction of the skateboard, exploring how far its definition can be stretched. In doing this, I plan to use my
inevitable failures, processes, and thoughts as an ongoing resource and exploration
of how to make skateboards, and how much sawdust one can injest.
